(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after police stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered meth and marijuana in his vehicle.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, while officers were on routine patrol they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Ind. 37 north of Doc Hamilton Drive in Mitchell at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
During that stop, the driver began to act suspicious so the officer had a K-9 unit go around the vehicle and the dog alerted officer to possible drugs in the vehicle.
"Officers discovered a white-powdery substance that tested positive for meth and a pill bottle that contained a green-leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana" Craig says.
Police arrested 29-year-old Dylan Silvers, of 75 Patricia Lane, on charges of possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
