(BLOOMFIELD) - 23-year-old Aaron Williams of Bloomfield was charged with arson for allegedly setting the door to an apartment building on fire.
Officers were called to the apartment building on Mill Street in Bloomington last Sunday after a person called reporting they saw the man set an apartment door on fire and then fled the area with another man.
Officers found the two walking in the area and stopped them. Officers discovered Williams was armed with a large knife.
Both men were taken to the Greene County Sheriff's Department. There the second man told police Williams had poured gas on the door and then lit the fire.
Williams told police he had went to the apartment to talk to a man that lived there that he was upset with and at first denied starting the fire. Then he changed his story and admitted to the crime
Police says six people lived in the building that housed three apartment and all six where home when the fire started. No one was injured in the incident.
