(OOLITIC) - A 5-year-old Bedford child was injured after a collision at the stop light on Ind. 37 at Oolitic, Wednesday.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 37-year-old Daniel Grissom was traveling north on Ind. 37 and told police he had the green light when 58-year-old Melissa Acton ran the red turn light and Grissom's 1996 Geo Metro collided into the left side of Acton's 2005 Buick Rendezvous.
Acton told police she was attempting to turn left onto Main Street in Oolitic and had the green light to make the turn. But a witness, Christy Martin, was traveling behind Acton's vehicle and told police the turn light was red.
Acton and Daniel Grissom were not injured in the incident. But Grissom's 5-year-old passenger suffered minor bleeding to his head.
Assisting at the scene was an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department first responders.
