(BLOOMINGTON) - 50-year-old Bruce Foster will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced to 65 years in January 2013 for the stabbing death of his former girlfriend 39-year-old Angela Holder.
Foster told Monroe Circuit Judge Kenneth Todd at the time of his sentencing he was not guilty of the crime and he would appeal his murder conviction.
Police says Foster stabbed Holder 17 times on June 7, 2011, after she had broken off a relationship with him. Holder's teenage daughter found her mother's body.
A neighbor testified he saw Foster and Holder arguing outside her apartment, than watched as Foster forced his way inside. He then heard loud thumping sounds and saw Foster emerged from the apartment and drive off in Holder's 2002 Chrysler Concorde.
