(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University star relief pitcher Jonny Hoffman was arrested In January 2013 and charged with possession with intent to deliver over 10 pounds of marijuana.
Hoffman was removed from the IU baseball team, with the stated reason being a "violation of team standards."
According to IU Police, large amounts of marijuana were being received through the U.S. mail, and IU police confiscated two packages totaling more than 20 pounds.
Hoffman, who opened the first package for police and admitted to engaging in the activity for more than two years. Police confiscated the second package.
Hoffman, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound right-hander from Oceanside, Calif., was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2012 as the conference's top relief pitcher.
