(UNDATED) - Ivy Tech Community College will allow students to continue to register for Spring 2014 classes through Sunday, January 19, due to the inclement weather and the extensive campus closures this week.
The Spring 2014 semester will still begin on Monday, January 13, but the college is giving students through the first week of classes to get registered. Traditionally, a student must register prior to the start of classes.
"Our main focus is ensuring we can get students in and registered for the classes they need this Spring semester," said Ivy Tech Community College President Thomas J. Snyder. "We certainly do not want to penalize our students due to weather and campus closures. By pushing back the registration date we can ensure our students are able to access the help they need on campus to get registered."
Many Ivy Tech campuses will be open for expanded hours this week through the end of next week to accommodate new students and continuing students who still need to register or take care of other college business before the start of the term. Faculty will be working to ensure students who registerfor a course after the first class meets will be acclimated to the course without interruption or delay.
Any student who needs assistance with registering for courses should visit ivytech.edu/hours to find the location and hours for the nearest campus. Students may also call the college at 888-IVY-LINE daily from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Eastern) or access the college's online chat at ivytech.edu/chat.
