(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod D. Holtsclaw announced that he will seek re-election in 2014.
The Greene County Daily World reports, Holtsclaw served eight years as a deputy prosecutor prior to becoming Greene County's prosecutor in 2007. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorney's Council.
Holtsclaw is a lifelong citizen of Greene County and a 1995 graduate of Indiana University with Magna Cum Laude honor and degrees in economics and criminal justice.
He graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in 1998 with Cum Laude honor and was a member of the editorial staff of the Indiana Law Journal.
During his service as prosecutor, Holtsclaw helped form and supervises the Greene County Drug Task Force whose focus has been the reduction of the manufacture, delivery and use of methamphetamine and other controlled substances in the county.
He also implemented a no-refusal policy for impaired driving investigations; helps to provide our county schools with a body safety program that teaches children how to recognize and protect themselves from sexual abuse; and he helped form the Greene County Sexual Assault Response Team to assist victims of sexual assault.
Holtsclaw promises that if he is re-elected, he will continue to serve the people of Greene County to the best of his abilities.
