(BLOOMINGTON) - A 28-year-old man was jailed after he held a woman against her will Thursday evening in her home on Dora Road in Bloomington.
Joshua Hollars was said to be armed with a knife and a .243 caliber bolt-action rifle when he entered the residence at 3719 E. Dora Road around 5:15 p.m. Thursday. The female resident was kept inside the home until she was able to escape and call police from her neighbor's house.
When Monroe County deputies arrived, Hollars exited the house carrying the rifle, according to a news release. He complied when officers told him to lower the weapon and surrender.
He was taken into custody and is being held at Monroe County Jail on a $40,000 surety, $500 cash bond with a hold for probation. His preliminary charges include criminal confinement, intimidation with a firearm, pointing a deadly weapon and battery.
The investigation is ongoing.
