(BEDFORD) - A 10-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after walking into the middle of a domestic fight Wednesday night.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the emergency room of IU Health Hospital at 7:11 p.m. after health officials reported treating a 10-year-old boy who had been involved in a domestic fight.
"The boy's mother told police that her and her husband were involved in a domestic fight, when her 10-year-old son walked into the room," Parsley says. "That is when she alleged her husband grabbed the boy around the neck, choking him and slammed him against the door."
Parsley says the boy had no visible signs of injury, but was complaining of pain to his entire body. The boy was treated and released from the hospital.
Battery affidavits were signed and officers went to a home in the 700 block of V Street and arrested 36-year-old Patrick Taflinger.
Taflinger is facing charges of strangulation and battery resulting in bodily injury.
