(ORANGE CO.) - A 6-year-old California girl who had been abducted by her mother on January 3 2013 was found by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Orange County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Bill Fullington, deputies and Indiana State Police troopers went to a home on Oak Grove Road in rural Orange County and found the mother and child.
On January 3 a Sacramento County court awarded custody of the child to the father and ordered Abrielle Roberson to turn the child over to him.
However Roberson fled the area with the girl. Authorities in California contacted Orange County officers with information that Roberson was driving a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba.
Police found the vehicle at a home on Oak Grove Road and obtained a search warrant. When officers served the warrant, they found the missing child and arrested Roberson on charges of detention of a minor child with intent to conceal from legal custody. Roberson was extradited to California to face charges and the child was returned to the father.
