(UNDATED) - Indiana meteorologists agree this winter storm was historic in nature, but more snow could follow.
The National Weather Service reports the Arctic blast was the coldest Indiana has experienced in 20 years. Temperatures for -15 and wind chills near -40 were extremely rare for the state.
Snowfall amounts were generally higher to the north with lower amounts to the south as a rain-snow mix cut down those totals.
More snow can be expected late Wednesday and Thursday, but accumulation doesn't look significant.
The National Weather Service says lows in the 40s will be here by the weekend as another system brings in relatively warmer air and chance for rain/snow mix.
The next few days the area could see a few inches of snow on Thursday and Friday, but temperatures will be warmer and could produce rain rather than snow or a mix of both.
Temperatures for Thursday are predicted at a high of 31, with 24 as the low. Then on Friday temperatures will reach 38 with a low of 21 and on Saturday a high of 40 with a low of 34.
Meteorologists are concerned that later in the week that the rain may produce flooding issues.
