(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington’s Walmart was closed for a couple hours Monday night after police say a man called in a bomb threat, demanding gift cards.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported that the Walmart at 3313 State Road 54 was closed just before 6 p.m. after a man called in the threat.
No bomb was found in the building or in the parking lot by investigators and their bomb-sniffing dogs brought to the scene.
The store was opened back up at roughly 8 p.m. after it had been cleared by bomb experts from the EOD at NSWC Crane bomb squad. No explosive device was found.
The sheriff said the man who called in the threat demanded six Walmart gift cards.
He has not yet been found by investigators.
