(JASPER) - State Police report debris from a blown tire in the roadway on Interstate 64 led to one person being airlifted from the scene of a rollover crash.
A preliminary investigation showed that the injured woman was westbound when she observed a large tire tread in her driving lane.
Police say she swerved to avoid the debris, causing her to lose control and roll over.
As the vehicle rolled over in the median, a 15-year-old female passenger was ejected from the car. Neither woman was wearing a seatbelt.
The 15-year old girl had to be airlifted to a local hospital. A male passenger in the car and the female driver were taken by ambulance to the hospital as well.
