(WORTHINGTON) - A runaway school bus crashed into the White River Valley Worthington Elementary School in Greene County Monday afternoon.
Principal Jill Staggs says that just before 3 p.m. the bus, which didn't have a drive and no students were aboard, shifted into reverse and rolled backwards through a fence, into an employee's vehicle and then stopped after hitting the wall of the school.
The Greene County Daily World reports that the bus did have the emergency brake on.
Stagg added that no children or individuals were outside or in the area of the building when the incident happened.
Stagg says there was no structural damage to the building, but contractors were conducting appropriate tests to ensure the integrity of the building.
