(UNDATED) - Beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, the State of Indiana Emergency Operations Center is set to increase staffing to assist with expected amounts of significant snow, extremely low temperatures and very windy conditions.
Emergency support functions, planning, fiscal, logistics and operations positions will be filled by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana State Police, Indiana National Guard, Indiana Department of Transportation, Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Indiana State Department of Health, and the American Red Cross.
In addition to the IDHS watch desk officers, staff will assist with situational awareness during severe conditions, coordination with local public safety professionals, including emergency management, medical, firefighters and law enforcement. EOC personnel also will assist with coordination of assets for road clearance and safety, utilities, health, and sheltering needs.
