(SEYMOUR) - A toddler in Seymour who may never walk on her own now has her wheelchair back.
The family told WDRB someone knocked on the door of their home sometime overnight. When they opened the door, the wheelchair was on the porch.
"It was the chair," said Jerasu Hudson, the little girl's grandmother. "There was nobody there and I screamed."
The $5,000 specialized Blue Panthera Micro Manual Wheelchair belongs to Kaly Hudson. She suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease that leaves her muscles too weak for her to walk on her own.
That's why a non-profit organization donated the chair to Kaly and her family in September.
It went missing on Jan. 4 when her mother, Amanda James, left it on the curb outside Kaly's grandmother's home at the corner of Second Street and Calvin Blvd.
It took about two hours before Kaly asked about the chair. By then it was gone.
