(BEDFORD) - The 40th Annual Lawrence County Spelling Bee begins Wednesday afternoon at Shafer Auditorium.
1340 AM WBIW is hosting event.
Elementary champions will begin competing Wednesday in hopes to win the title and an opportunity to take on the middle school champions on Thursday.
Competition begins at 4:30 p.m. both days and is free to attend.
The winner of Thursday's competition will advance to the Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee in March.
The trophy will be award at the end of the competition.
If you can't attend the event, it will be broadcast on 1340 WBIW both Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30p.m. It will also be streaming on wbiw.com
