(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested early Sunday morning after getting into a fight with her brother.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 20-year-old Amanda Davis was at a home in the 600 block of 16th Street watching a movie with her brother, when she became upset and began yelling and throwing things.
She then exited the home and was on the sidewalk, her brother followed trying to calm Davis.
When police arrived at 1:30 a.m. they found Davis and her brother standing on the sidewalk, with Davis screaming.
Officers asked Davis to calm down, and that is when she told police she wanted to leave and to go to her parent's home in Oolitic. Officers offered to give Davis a ride, but she then refused and continued to yell.
Officers again asked Davis to stop and she refused.
That is when officers attempted to arrest Davis, who then became combative. Officers had to physically restrain her.
She was arrested and charged with public intoxication, illegal consumption and resisting arrest by force.
