(BLOOMINGTON) - A 36-year-old Bloomington man was arrested Friday after police found him hiding in an attic.
Bloomington Police Department's Tactical Response Team was called to serve a warrant at a home in the 3000 block of West Vernal Pike. Friday morning police served Jeremy Dalton who was wanted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a serious violent offender.
Police used an informant to purchase a handgun from Dalton. When police arrived at the home they found Dalton hiding in the attic and refused to come out.
After finally talking Dalton out of the attic, he admitted to police he had a gun and meth.
According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, police found a bag containing three grams of meth in Dalton's pocket and a .45-caliber automatic handgun under a bed with additional boxes of ammunition.
According to police Dalton was convicted in 2010 of dealing meth which will enhance the new charges of possession of meth with the intent to sell and two counts of possession of a firearm as a serious violent offender.
He is being held on a $50,000 surety or $1,000 cash bond.
