(BROWNSTOWN) - Brownstown will continue participation in a statewide program designed to save money and make communities more attractive and environmentally clean.
The CLEAN Community program -- or Comprehensive Local Environmental Action Network -- is a free, voluntary program that honors Hoosier communities and counties for managing environmental impacts from governmental operations.
"Brownstown is a CLEAN community," Debbie Hackman told town councilmen recently. Hackman is director of the Jackson County Solid Waste Management District, which helped the town first earn the designation in 2009.
