(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Utilities Department has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for some of its customers until further notice.
A water main break occurred Saturday that prompted the advisory.
The areas affected include: North Showers Road between East Mel Currie Road and East Wylie Road, East Ellis Road between North Ind. 37 and North Showers Road and the 4600-5100 blocks of Business Ind. 37.
All Washington Township Water Corp. customers are also impacted by the boil water advisory.
Residents in these areas should boil drinking water for five minutes before consumption and flush their systems by running cold water through all fixtures, including washing machines, until the water is clear. Tap water is fine for washing and bathing.
For more information, call Bloomington Utilities at 812-339-1444 or the Washington Township Water Corp. at 812-332-3230.
