(BEDFORD) - Commissioner Chris May has announced his intention to seek re-election for the Republican Party candidate for Lawrence County Commissioner District 1.
May is being challenged by fellow Republicans Rodney G. Fish and David "Bud" Nicholson. May, a lifelong resident of Lawrence County, has served as commissioner for eight years.
May graduated from BNL and works at Whitney Tool as a Sales Engineer. May says his involvement in a number of community non-profit organizations complement the necessary qualities for being an effective Commissioner.
May is involved with: Bedford Masonic Lodge #14, Sons of the American Legion Gillen Post #33, Springmill FOP Lodge #172, Stone City FOP Lodge #94, and Bedford Elks Lodge #826.May is also an active board member of the newly formed Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.
May and his wife Amanda, son Carter, and daughter Sydney are members of Mount Pleasant Christian Church. Amanda is the Principal at Parkview Intermediate.
