(BLOOMFIELD) - Eastern Greene’s Board of School Trustees voted to push back the high school graduation one week.
Director of Learning Ted Baechtold told the board the commencement change was due to excessive amount of snow days taken this year.
The commencement date has been moved from May 24 to May 31. He requested the change be made officials so families could prepare and plan for the event.
Baechtold says students have missed 12 days so far this year and with a waiver from the Indiana Department of Education, students must make up 10 of those days.
School board president Michael Adams stressed the change does not take the Saturday school off of the table if the school has to miss any more days because of snow.
