(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Police Trooper Josh Allen has been named Bloomington District Trooper of the Year for 2013.
Commander of the Bloomington Indiana State Police Post, Paul Bucher presented Trooper Allen with the award before his fellow troopers at a recent District meeting.
The plaque Trooper Allen received reads, "Presented to the Trooper who has achieved outstanding enforcement efforts in the areas of traffic enforcement, criminal enforcement, public service and who has exemplified the character expected of an Indiana State Trooper".
"Trooper Allen is an asset to the citizens of Indiana and to the Indiana State Police Department," Lt. Bucher stated. "Trooper Allen is very deserving of this award."
Trooper Allen graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School and Indiana University. He currently serves on the Meth Suppression Unit at the Bloomington District which serves Monroe, Owen, Greene, Lawrence, Brown and Morgan counties.
Because of Trooper Allen's investigations into drug activities his photo is not being released.
