(MONROE CO.) - Old traffic tickets bringing in new revenue for Monroe County.
Collections effort clears storage space, brings in nearly $200,000 so far.
There are no more shelves full of tickets in the Monroe County Clerk's Office. More than 20 years of both paid and unpaid tickets sat in the office until about a year ago, when the clerk's office contracted with a collections agency to start getting rid of the tickets, clearing out space for the county's scanning equipment and repurposing some of the shelving for the county's new archive and the voter registration office.
