(BLOOMINGTON) - One man is behind bars following a high-speed chase Wednesday morning.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mike Pershing, the pursuit began in Bloomington and ended in Morgan County, south of the Johnson County line.
At 10 a.m. the man was spotted in a stolen van on North Walnut Street. The man refused to stop for police and continued north on Ind. 37. The pursuit was joined by Bloomington Police and Indiana State troopers.
Pershing says stop sticks were placed on the roadway near Ind. 44 in Morgan County, but the man drove through them and did not stop until the rear tires were flat.
The vehicle finally stopped in the median and the man was arrested.
No one was injured during the pursuit, but a Morgan County and a Monroe County police car was struck during the chase.
