(WASHINGTON) - The Daviess County Prosecutor is investigating a claim that a 4-year-old in Washington was found wandering the roadways and is deciding if the parents will face possible neglect charges.
Washington Police received a call Sunday at 8:15 a.m. reporting a child was walking along North East Fourth Street and was wearing a pink coat and men's shoes.
Police found the child and drove him around attempting to locate the child's home.
At 9:30 a.m. a resident in the 400 block of East Main Street called police reporting their 4-year-old son was missing.
The caller told police the last time they saw the child was at 5 a.m. After police talked to the child's father the child was released to his grandmother.
