(BEDFORD) - The Cellular Connection will be donating school supplies to more than 10 pre-selected local teachers on February 23 from 6 to 7 p.m. at their location at 13111 16th Street.
The company is donating supply packs, to 3,500 teachers across the county because teachers spend on average $1.2 billion of their own money on school supplies every year.
The supply packages are valued at $80 each are filled with glue, pencils, pens, markers, erasers, paper, tissue boxes and more.
Residents are also helping by rounding their purchases up to the nearest dollar with the difference going directly toward the Teachers Rock Supply Giveaway. If the participating store raises more than $500 through customer contributions, they will use that money to purchase additional supplies for the teachers.
The Teachers Rock Supply Giveaway is taking place six months after TCC's donation of 60,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children across the U.S. through its School Rocks Backpack Giveaway initiative.
