(Linton) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident that occurred at Redbird State Recreation Area on Saturday.
The driver, 33-year-old Billy J. Utt of Linton, was treated for back injuries at the Greene County General Hospital.
Utt was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, which is a requirement at Redbird. Utt was also operating an unregistered ATV with a suspended driver's license, all of which are violations on the State Property.
The accident occurred while Utt was attempting to climb Power Line Hill, inside the recreation area. According to Utt, his ATV stalled before cresting the hill, and he landed on his back.
Indiana Conservation Officers encourage the public to be clear on the rules and regulations before operating an ATV.
