(BLOOMFIELD) - Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, Indiana State Police troopers along with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to a home about an unlawful residential entry.
Their investigation led them to person of interest on Railroad Street in Bloomfield, where they were able to make contact with the man outside of his home at 430 Railroad Street.
While officers were speaking to 53-year-old Joe J. McHenry they discovered that they had enough probable cause to arrest the suspect.
As officers went to handcuff McHenry and arrest him on a charge of residential entry, a class D felony, McHenry began resisting the officers. A physical altercation ensued. Officers were able to restrain McHenry and transport him to Greene County Jail without further incident. No one was injured during the altercation.
McHenry is facing charges of residential entry and resisting law enforcement.
