(BLOOMFIELD) - Eastern Greene Middle School is making a habit of emerging as state Scrabble champions Saturday.
The students know a thing or two about putting together double-and triple-word scores in the board game of Scrabble.
This is the ninth time Eastern has claimed the title.
The group will now travel to the National School Scrabble Championship Tournament in Providence, Rhode Island, April 25 and 26.
Three teams are registered for the national event - Tucker Piedmont and Tristan Vincz; Dakota Abell and Casey Fizer; Reed Hudson and Abe Piedmont.
The group plans to fly out on April 23 so they can hop the Amtrak and spend a day in Boston, MA. to possibly visit Fenway Park, walk a portion of the Freedom Trail, see the U.S.S. Constitution, take a Duck Tour, and go to the Boston Commons.
