(GREENE CO.) - Greene County law enforcement officers will show their support for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life next month - by serving dinner to community members.
The officers will temporarily transform into waiters and waitresses for a Relay for Life fundraiser, donating their tips to the cause.
The Greene County Daily World reports, you can enjoy a meal served by the officers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on either Wednesday, April 2 or Thursday, April 3. On Wednesday, they will be at Pizza Villa II in Jasonville, and on Thursday they will be at JoEtta's Pizza Villa in Linton.
Halea Franklin, who serves as chair of the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Greene County, says the officers' willingness to donate their time to the fundraiser speaks volumes about the quality of law enforcement officials in Greene County, and commended the volunteers for giving up their time for a great cause.
Clark, Sheriff's Department Deputy Dustin Cain, Linton Detective Sergeant Josh Goodman, Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Major Mike Hasler, Linton Officer Debbie McDonald Miller, Bloomfield Marshal Kenny Tharp, and Spencer Assistant Chief Rannix Tinsley are all scheduled to serve on either Wednesday or Thursday evening.
Franklin added that the restaurant owners, Kathy May, who owns Pizza Villa II, and Rob Turpin, who has JoEtta's Pizza Villa deserve thanks for their help.
Franklin will be on-hand both nights, in order to help anyone who would like to register a team for Relay for Life, become a sponsor, or donate to the event. If you would like more information about Relay for Life, please contact her at haleafranklin@gmail.com.
