(LINTON) - Officers from the Linton Police Department were called following a threat at a school and responded immediately.
An officer removed the students who allegedly made the threats and the situation will be investigated further.
Superintendent Nick Karazsia says the threat is an isolated incident and the schools are safe. But the school will be under heightened security.
Heightened security means that all students will be permitted to be released to change class periods during the day, but they will not be released during the class period unless it is an emergency. All of the classroom doors will be kept closed and staff will remain watchful and alert to any problems or concerns that arise.
Karazsia added that school staff and the Linton Police Department work diligently to provide a safe school environment. They investigate every rumor or threat, and every threat is taken very seriously.
