(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Public Library is joining the seed lending movement that is spreading across American libraries.
Beginning today, stop by the library, select seeds from the collection and take a few extra envelopes.
When the plants are ready to harvest, collect and return the seeds to the library.
Digital Yearbooks
The library has begun the process of digitizing its Mitchell High School yearbook collection in order to preserve a piece of local history and facilitate better access to this collection.
Once the digitization process is completed, patrons will have the option of accessing the yearbooks in person at the library or online.
During the digitization process the library's collection of Mitchell High School yearbooks will be temporarily unavailable.
Raising Money
The Friends of the Library have partnered with AmazonSmile for a fundraising campaign.
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way to support a favorite charitable organization each shopping visit to Amazon, and at no cost.
Go to smile.amazon.com, on the first visit select "Friends of the Mitchell Community Public Library" before shopping.
The online account will remember each selection, and then every eligible purchase made on AmazonSmile will result in a donation to the Friends of the Library.
