(MITCHELL) - Police dogs from Lawrence County and Mitchell police departments along with their handlers did a random drug sweep Thursday at Mitchell High School.
The search was done at the request of school officials.
Mitchell Superintendent Steve Phillps says no drugs were found.
It took three dogs a little over two hours to complete the search.
The dogs alerted on 22 lockers, but no drugs were found in the lockers. In each of the 22 instances, the parents of the students were notified.
The dogs did not search the parking lot or the Mitchell Junior High School, because of ISTEP testing.
