(MITCHELL) - Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson will be the featured speaker at the annual Lawrence County Republican Central Committee’s Lincoln Day Dinner on April 4.
The event, conducted in the Lakeview Room at Spring Mill Inn, will start at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Lawson, who was appointed secretary of state by former Gov. Mitch Daniels on March 16, 2012, is the state's 61st secretary of state. Prior to serving that role, Lawson served in the Indiana Senate for 16 years and as clerk of the Hendricks County Circuit Court for eight years. During her tenure as a state senator, she was selected as the first woman to serve as the majority floor leader in the Senate. She chaired the Local Government and Elections Committees and the Joint Rules Committee and authored many pieces of legislation.
Tickets are $35 each. The event, sponsored by the central committee and the Lawrence County Republican Women's Club, will feature a cash bar. To purchase tickets, send checks to Craig Turpen, P.O. Box 1148, Bedford, IN 47421.
