(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after a Lawrence County police officer stopped their vehicle for a traffic violation Monday night.
Police stopped the vehicle on Glen Dale Way because of a faulty license plate light.
After stopping the vehicle, the occupants were acting nervous, so a police K-9 was called to walk around the vehicle.
"The dog alert officers of possible drugs inside the vehicle," says Sheriff Sam Craig. "Officers found a baggie with a large amount of a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana and pills."
Officers arrested 31-year-old Jason Kristan, of Bedford, on charges of dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana over 30 grams, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance and for driving while his driver's license was suspended.
His passenger 28-year-old Ryan Hall, of Bloomington was arrested on charges of visiting a common nuisance and possession of marijuana under 30 grams.
