(WASHINGTON) - Washington Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Mike McLemore is asking for the public’s help in resolving a problem at Washington’s city parks.
Some people are bringing their trash into City Parks for the purpose of dumping or disposal.
McLemore says that large, full trash bags are being placed in and around trash receptacles within the City Parks.
The Parks Superintendent reminds everyone that a City Ordinance prohibits persons from bringing trash into City Parks for dumping or disposal purposes, and violators are subject to a $500 fine.
City Code Enforcement will be contacting individuals whose names and addresses were recovered from the trash.
