(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly stole some prescription medication. A warrant was issued for her arrest April 7.
According to Greene County Police, 30-year-old Billie J. Polmanter allegedly took a prescription of Lortab from a vehicle parked at a home on East Furnace Road in Bloomfield on February 22.
According to court documents, the homeowner told police that had left the medication in one of the vehicles parked in his drive while he talked to other people at the home and forgot it there then went inside the resident, where Polmanter had been living.
The man had asked Polmanter to move out and Polmanter was packing her belongings and was putting them in her vehicle when the man noticed his prescription was no longer sitting where he had placed it. The person told Polmanter that he would contact law enforcement if the prescription did not turn up, Polmanter then jumped in her vehicle and left.
When questioned by police she denied taking the medication, but finally admitted to taking it. She told police that after she drove away from the home and noticed what she thought was a police vehicle behind her she threw the medication out the window.
However the man who reported the missing medication said he found the Lortab pharmacy bag that had contained the medication in a dumpster behind the Bloomfield Dollar General Store.
But Polmanter maintained that she had thrown the bag out of the window shortly after leaving the home.
Polmanter is facing felony charges of theft and possession of a controlled substance.
