(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department announced today that applications are available for its 2014 Citizens’ Academy program.
Citizens' Academy provides participants with an interactive learning experience about municipal government services, programs and responsibilities.
City residents who are interested in civic participation or increasing their knowledge about local government operation can apply online at the City of Bloomington's web site at bloomington.in.gov/neighborhoods. The deadline for 2014 Citizens' Academy applications is Monday, July 14.
The 2014 Citizens' Academy will meet every Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. from Aug. 14 through Oct. 9. The session will be limited to a total of 30 participants to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
Daniella Brunton, a graduate of the 2013 class, shared this about her experience, "The Citizens' Academy class exceeded my expectations of understanding how the City of Bloomington operates. I highly recommend it to anyone in any career who loves Bloomington and wants to know how to make a difference."
