(BEDFORD) - Rotary Club of Bedford will recognize Dr. Medhat Girgis for his contributions to Lawrence County.
The honor exemplifies the true spirit of the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self."
This year, Dr. Medhat Girgis will be the recipient of the 2014 Rotary Club Annual Toast, slated for May 10 at First Baptist Church's Christian Life Center. A social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Medhat was born in Egypt and he and his wife Monda arrived in Bedford in 1972 from New York. They have three children and seven grandchildren. Their eldest son, Kamal, also a physician with Indiana University Health Hospital, is married to Bedford Mayor Shawna Girgis.
