INDOT To Begin Bridge Deck Rehabiliation Project On U.S. 150

Last updated on Thursday, April 17, 2014

(PROSPECT) - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that beginning on or after Monday, April 28, work will begin on the bridge deck rehabilitation project on U.S. 150 west of Prospect.

Contractor's crews will be replacing the bridge deck on the structure 3.31 miles west of S.R. 56 over a branch of the Lost River.

In order to maintain a safe work zone, one lane will be closed at a time. Stop lights will be installed on each end of the work zone to control traffic through the area. There will also be a 14-foot width restriction in place.

The contract was awarded to American Contracting of Jeffersonville, Indiana, in February of this year in the amount of $366,736.89.

It is estimated the project will be complete in October of 2014, weather permitting.

This project is near an existing bridge rehabilitation project over Lost Creek 1.36 miles west of S.R. 56. Restrictions are in place at this location as contractor's crews begin painting the structure.

A traffic signal will be used to control traffic through this work site.
