(SEYMOUR) - The Indiana Department of Transportation reports that a portion of U.S. 50 in Jackson and Lawrence counties will be patched and rehabilitated. Work will be done in both lanes of the highway.
The work will extend from intersection of U.S. 50 and Ind. 446 in Lawrence County to the CSX tracks near Brownstown in Jackson County.
Dave O'Mara Contractor, Inc., of North Vernon is the contractor for the $588,513 project.
No timetable has been established, but work should begin by mid-spring. INDOT officials hope to complete the project by mid-August.
The state anticipates topping these U.S. 50 repairs with a chip seal application later in the year.
