(JACKSON CO.) - A Niles man suffered serious injuries after he crashed is off-road motorcycle in Jackson County.
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the accident at happened Sunday afteron at Moto Surpreme, a priveat race course located off of County Road 975 West in northern Jackson County.
According to officers, 48-year-old Thomas Dronicki was attempting to cross a creek and lost control of his motorcycle. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered several injuries, including two broken femur bones.
Dronicki was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and treated for his injuries
Assisting agencies at the scene included the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Jackson County EMS, and the Salt Creek Fire Department.
Dronicki was wearing a helmet and safety equipment, which likely reduced the severity of his injuries. Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet and necessary safety equipment when operating an ATV or off-road motorcycle.
