(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell man was sentenced to three and a half years in jail on meth and intimidation charges.
32-year-old Tylor Jean was sentenced by Lawrence County Superior Court Judge William Sleva after accepting a plea agreement.
Jean will spend three and a half yeas in jail with credit for 250 days served and 987 days were suspended to supervised probation. The sentence will be served on house arrest.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig, on November 29 around 6 p.m. Lawrence County police received a complaint of a man out of control at a home on Davey Cox Road.
"The caller told dispatch he had left the home because a man was out of control," Craig added. "Officers met with the man and they returned to the home."
When they arrived, officers heard a gun fire and that is when Jean came out of the home with a shotgun.
"Officers asked the man several times to put the gun down, but he refused," Craig says. "He then went back into the home and came back out without the weapon."
Jean was placed in handcuffs and officers entered the home to make sure no one inside was injured.
"No one else was in the home," Craig says. "Officers found the meth when they searched Tylor's pockets."
Jean was then placed under arrest for intimidation with a deadly weapon, and possession of meth while in possession of a firearm.
