(DUBOIS CO) - A Dubois man was caught by the cell phone he stole.
According to police, a Huntingburg woman reported her Samsung Galaxy S3 was stolen.
But what 37-year-old Don Rainey, a co-worker of the woman's, didn't know was that without the correct password the phone's security system kicked in and took his picture each time he used the phone and sent the photos to the owner's cell phone account. Rainey is also part of the Dubois County Community Correction program.
Using information from the owner's cell phone account, officers went to community corrections where they found the phone in Rainey's car. Rainey admitted to taking the phone and was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on a charge of theft.
