(UNDATED) - Rep. Todd Young (R-IN9) announced on Friday that the 9th District Congressional offices will continue to accept applications for the 9th District’s Congressional Leadership Program until April 25, 2014.
The Congressional Leadership Program (CLP), which was developed and launched by Young's staff in 2012, introduces college and graduate students to their region and develops their leadership skills so they can effectively serve their community.
CLP's sessions are designed to help a diverse group of high-achieving college and graduate students learn more about the strengths and challenges of their community and how they might live a life engaged in addressing those issues.
Applicants should be residents of, or attending college or graduate school in, the 9th Congressional District. Incoming freshman college students are also encouraged to apply. CLP class size is limited, so the application process is competitive. The application deadline is April 25, 2014, but priority will be given to applications as they are received. Applicants must attend at least four out of five sessions to successfully complete the program.
Potential applicants who have questions should contact the Jeffersonville Constituent Service Center at 812-288-3999. The application and a sample calendar of activities can be found at http://toddyoung.house.gov/congressional-leadership-program/.
Indiana's 9th District includes all or parts of Brown, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Johnson Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Scott, and Washington Counties in south central Indiana.
