(BLOOMFIELD) - A warrant for the arrest of a Solsberry woman was issued Thursday after she allegedly attempted to bring a prescription drug through security at the Green County Courthouse.
49-year-old Kathy S. Duncan went to the courthouse on Tuesday and when the security officer checked her purse he discovered a cellophane wrapper containing five Xanax pills.
Wade told police she found the pills in her 24-year-old son's pants pocket when she was doing laundry and she took them so he wouldn't take them. She said she put them in her purse until she could determine what they were and had forgotten she had them in her purse.
Police determined that neither Duncan nor her son had a prescription for the drug.
Now Duncan faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.
