(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington icon, the Starlite Drive-In, has a new owner.
The Jarvis Family sold the business to Freeman Family Farms, a business known for its U-Pick Pumpkin Patch. Mark Freeman says they will operate the drive-in in much the same manner it has operated since 1955. Mark and Yvonne Freeman are both local natives, having grown up and raised their family in the area.
The couple; along with their kids, Reece, Logan, Ryan and Lacee; operate Freeman Family Farms.
The family has started working on the Starlite, doing repairs, cleaning and waking the great Bloomington Icon back up from its winter slumber. They hope to have the drive-in open on April 18th.
This season will mark the drive-ins 59th year of business.
