(LAWRENCE CO.) - Lawrence County Treasurer Paula Stewart reminds taxpayers that the Spring installment of this year’s property taxes are due by Monday, May 12, just two weeks from now.
Payments postmarked or made in person after May 12th will automatically incur a penalty.
Fall taxes are due November 10th.
Residents can find their current tax information online at www.lawrencetax.net or http://lawrencein.egis.39dn.com/#.
Officials have implemented a security screening process at the courthouse and those paying in person must enter through the south doors of the courthouse.
The Treasurer's office will be closed following the May 12th deadline to complete on time mail posting. It will re-open Wednesday, May 21st.
According to Stewart, the county will hold their 2014 Tax Sale on Wednesday, October 15th. Properties three or more installments in arrears will be certified for the Tax Sale the morning of June 29th. Following the June certification, the property must be paid current to remove the property from the Tax Sale.
